A LERU student workshop on communicating animal experimentation.

“I Boil Potatoes Alive!”

The League of European Research Universities (LERU) is organising a workshop for early-stage scientists in mid-September 2024, which will focus on the effective communication of science with a focus on animals used for scientific purposes.

Hosted by the University of Milan, the workshop will bring together a maximum of 24 participants to discuss key issues relevant to communicating science based on animal experiments, including the importance of transparency, when and how to best communicate science, and what to do when it all goes wrong. We aim to keep the event small so that we can maximise interactions between the participants.

Bringing together speakers from industry, universities, and external information services, we aim to help students to be better prepared for communications activities in their future careers. This workshop follows a successful first edition held at the University of Heidelberg in 2022 (see here for details).
