Hugh Brady takes office as President of Imperial College London

On 1 August 2022, Professor Hugh Brady started as new President of Imperial College London. He is the first medic to lead Imperial and succeeds Prof. Alice Gast, who’s term as President ended on 31 July 2022.

Prof. Brady is trained in general medicine and nephrology, and is a global leader in science, engineering, medicine, and business. He is specialized in the pathogenesis of renal inflammation and diabetic kidney disease. Prior to his role as 17th President of Imperial, he was Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Bristol. He also worked at Harvard Medical School, the University of Toronto, and University College Dublin.
