This declaration is the input of the LERU universities on the European Innovation Partnership (EIP) active and healthy ageing Strategic Implementation Plan (SIP) and is based on a workshop organised by LERU in 2012. Through this workshop LERU concluded that ageing research is a crucial requirement for the Europe of the future and that a transdisciplinary approach is essential to embrace the complexity of the ageing issue over time. LERU introduces some issues and conditions regarding SIP, such as the inclusion of the voices of older people.
