Research funding - Best national practices for simplification

I Stock 480819919 - research

In this note LERU proposes a simplification of the EU Research Framework Programme (FP) through e.g. the acceptance of existing usual accounting and control practices of the beneficiaries by the European Commission (EC). It also discusses why the existing Certificate of Methodology of the EC did not result into larger simplification for many FP participants. LERU asks the EC to take a closer look at other simpler national (or in some case regional) funding agencies and use them as an example for their simplification measures.

This note is based on a meeting of the LERU Community of European Research Project Managers and on a consultation among this community.
